Stranded overnight at JFK

Don’t you just love flow control at JFK? Yeah, I do too. Now I have the pleasure of getting up at around 4AM for the third day in a row.

  1. Looks like there is more to the cost of MRs than just $$$. Time’s precious, too. 🙂

  2. @ Ryan — Of course, and I was at the same wonderful Holiday Inn. Remember, the one where they went “hot damn” when I walked in. 😉

@ Oliver — But I enjoy this kind of stuff!

    @ yyzatcqq — It’s all your fault. 😉

@ MatthewLAX — I could have taken a later flight JFK-IAD, but I would have misconnected at IAD, so I figured it was better to stay in New York.

  3. So is this a fairly often occurrence at JFK? I have a late flight out on Thursday and I have to be at work on Friday.. Should I be concerned?

  4. @Lucky — moot point now, but I meant take a later flight to IAD today so you would not have to get up so early.

  5. @ Nate — Let me put it this way: The IAD-JFK-IAD flights are the most fun for me as a mileage runner. Either they’re late and I misconnect or they’re oversold. The morning flights are typically uneventful, but the evening flights are often a bit more exciting. I wouldn’t be too worried. The flight might be delayed, but you should make it to IAD.

@ MatthewLAX — I was considering that, but when I got to JFK I noticed the JFK-IAD flight was Y1, so I figured I might as well take the last seat and hope for a bump. Furthermore, I was exhausted and just wanted to sleep, so figured I could either go to sleep early and get up early or go to sleep late and get up late(r).
