Radisson Rewards – formerly known as Club Carlson – has just launched a promotion for summer stays. Radisson Rewards members can earn double points on stays of two or more nights between July 9 and August 31, 2018.
Registration is required prior to your first eligible stay in order to earn bonus points. Eligible stays for the purposes of this promotion include revenue stays at eligible rates only – free night redemptions and Points + Cash bookings are not eligible for the promotion. Stays not only have to be consumed during the promotion period to be eligible, but also have to be booked during it (so if you have any pre-existing bookings, you’ll want to rebook if possible, which is such an annoying restriction).
Furthermore, stays at all Radisson brands worldwide qualify for the promotion, including Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson, and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson.
Radisson Rewards members ordinarily earn 20 base points per dollar spent, meaning during this promotion they’d earn an additional 20 points per dollar spent. Furthermore, if you’re a Gold member you’d earn a further five points per dollar spent, and then on top of that you’d earn whatever points you usually earn through credit card spend.
Personally I value Club Carlson points at ~0.3 cents each, so if you’re earning 40 points per dollar spent, that’s like the equivalent of a 12% return, by my valuation. The return gets better once you factor in the value you get out of credit card spend, and also if you have status in the Radisson Rewards program.
For context, here’s the Radisson Rewards award chart when it comes time to redeem those points for stays:
I don’t think this promotion is enough reason to switch any stays to a Radisson property, though if you’re staying at one anyway, you might as well take advantage of this offer.
Do you plan on taking advantage of Radisson Rewards’ double points promotion?
