So the SPG best rate guarantee explicitly excludes CTrip, because the confirmation of your booking is not ‘instant’ (CTrip’s ‘instant’ confirmations clear within one hour after booking). This is starting to render the whole BRG a joke – for example, the LM Saigon for New Year sells for 55% of its SPG rate on CTrip. Does anyone have any thoughts on this / experiences on how to get around it? I’m not chasing every dime here, but if I can save 250 USD for a weekend trip then I might not bother with SPG benefits once I have my qualifying nights together….
