Anonymous GuestHi, I was just wondering, I need to cancel a plane ticket I bought with my amex card. It was booked months ago. If I cancel it and get a refund (minus cancellation fees), will amex take away the membership rewards points I earned by buying that ticket?
If they do not, could people potentially “buy” MR points by buying expensive flight tickets get the points, and then have them refunded, as a result only paying a small cancellation fee for lots of MR points? -

Refund will deduct points from your account based on the same bonus earning rates so you wouldnt be able to get lots of MR points this way.
