Money or Miles?

Would you smart people pay $418 for a one way flight from Barcelona to the US or use 30k of your cherished (but plenty of) AA miles to get back home from a cruise?

I say it depends on how points-rich vs. cash-rich you are. Personally I try never to pay cash for flights if I don’t have to. But $418 is a pretty reasonable price and if you’ll only be flying to the eastern part of the US I’d definitely consider it. But if you’re flying to the US west coast, I’d try to find business class on Iberia.
