I’m surprised by all the ‘but, but the color’ comments on the prior post; it’s as if none of you have experienced the existing fold-down J seats. If you had, you’d quickly ignore the silly color and appreciate the vastly superior functionality of the new hard product.
"Scoot and Spirit Airlines had a baby" is the comment of the day!
Another surprise is that they use leather, which is actually the “cheaper” material, since it’s easier to maintain and clean. Most non-us airlines use fabric since it keeps passenger's backs cooler.
Lucky, really thought you'd be invited. J color/them design makes no sense. F looks great.
“BMW Designworks was behind the business class seats”
I knew I’d seen those seats before!! They’re the same plastic-look leather from my old E36 3 Series!
I hope they are more comfortable that the prior SQ seats, which are rock hard and like sitting on concrete.
its ok we can name names. Zach Griff is the most useless, corporate brown noser in the entire industry. Makes Sam Chui look impartial. This dude exited his mothers womb obsessed with his "brand". Represents everything wrong with social media today.
Anyway these seats look bad
if it's just a rendering, maybe hopefully it's not too late for them to change up the color scheme
The finishes look awful, I don’t know how an airline like Singapore signed off on this, and I suspect (and hope) they will backtrack to some degree. Reupholstery of the seat fabrics is relatively low-cost and low-effort, and even if they don’t change the walls and panels, a reupholstered seat would look much better. I hope they do something.
BMW Designworks did the interiors for the EVA Airways 787s. That cabin looks very sleek. Even here the pods look sleek.
But I would think the colors scheme has to come from the airline. So this is all on Singapore Airlines. I might even live with a drab grey, but that yellow lining in there just doesn't make any sense.
Looks like the interior of a 2027 Kia Telluride.
As I've mentioned in the initial thread, they seem to have took what was advertised in the catalogue and just chose the base CMF.
And it's okay to drift away from their original colour palette. They could've at least taken some inspiration from their lounges.
While there are some who like to pinpoint the designer as the problem, the airline has the final say in the final product. Starlux and EVA's 787s have also used the same designer.
Speaking of designers. they've collaborated with JPA in the past who also is currently working with Cathay which has been a longstanding partnership hence the gorgeous Aria finishes.
Australia's Executive Traveller has a very interesting article of how the seat came to be. The seat is meant to resemble one in a racing car as it was developed by BMW. Is it Emirates that worked with Mercedes for their seat?

I just watched the Points Guy’ YouTube short on the seat. IRL, the color scheme doesn’t look that bad.
