The Swissport Lounge at Chicago O'Hare Terminal 5, which I've called the worst lounge in the United States, has quietly closed. Here's what we know about what's next.

Was really impressed by the new-ish, very large SkyClub at ORD T5, especially its floor to ceiling views of the airport, two board-from-lounge gates, and hot-dog stand. Almost felt like a DeltaOne.

I think the Plumeira lounge at HNL is objectively worse in terms of amenities but has a better vibe

gba - oh please!!!
the old Priority Plus lounge in OGG is MUCH worse
(havent been to the new one in the new OGG terminal since it is never open during reasonable hours, of course)

but, to you point - I agree, they are in a league of their own.....

when I had PP access, I would intentionally walk in, sign-in, and then leave - just to waste someone's money.... not mine.

Lol thanks for the news, Ben.

Also - Really not a fan of the new article layout. The text is pushed into a narrow column off to the side to make room for links that follow you as you scroll, even though you don't need constant access to them. At normal zoom, the article itself takes up only about 20% of my screen width, which seems like a poor use of space.

I appreciate you trying something new, but could you reconsider the layout or at least give readers the option to expand the article to use more of the screen?

LOL, a sad chapter is indeed closed. What an experience it was. BA Lounge was only marginally better. The LOT Lounge looks great, btw.

The old BA business lounge seemed worse

The old BA lounge at least had decent food.

Not sure how we are defining lounges, but I find the Gameway PP lounges pretty weak - one drink and one snack only, or one beer (with no cup or coaster etc.).

Those are arcades, not lounges. And, spas are spas, not lounges. And, restaurants are restaurants, not lounges.

Let's not forget the VIP ONE Lounge at JFK T1.

So many lounges at JFK just suck, especially the Priority Pass ones. Way overcrowded to the point where it's more comfortable to take a seat at an unused gate outside the lounges. Which is disappointing if you're flying on a business class ticket on an airline that sends you to a PP lounge.

Seriously. Wingtips, HelloSky, Primeclass, or whatever they’re calling JFK T4 PP…

To be fair VIP ONE at JFK T1 is a bit different, since it's pre-security and I feel like this is mostly used for the ability to skip the security line and not so much waiting and lounging (although to your point, I often see people in the lounge section which always eludes me a bit!). But I use it all the time to skip the lines if they're just a little too long.

wingtips has lower food quality and weaker drink selection than our dearly departed swissport ord t5 lounge. also an airside bus that operates intra-termanal to move from t5 lounges to other terminals.

Has Lucky done any reviews of the new lounges at T5?

I haven't had the pleasure of trying the Swissport ORD, but my vote for the worst would be The Club BWI

So true!! This place sucks! The breakfast offerings at a Super 8 are better compared to this dump!

With the Swissport lounge closing, my vote for the worst domestic lounge is "The Club" / Concourse E in ATL.

I thought the worst lounge in the Hawaiian airline lounge US was in Hawaii?

P.S. If you think this is bad, try USO lounges.

How about the iASS lounge in Honolulu? Looks nice but zero food. Is Priority Pass.

Is this the new winner for worst lounge in the US?
