Marriott Cancellation Fees

Marriott Cancellation Fees

  1. Anonymous Guest

I just noticed on couple of one night Marriott reservations I have for Boston that the cancellation penalty is considerably more than the reserved room rate. in one case the cancellation fee is a whopping $876 for a room reserved at a rate of $265. The cancellation fee for the other reservation is not as egregious but still double the reserved room rate. This is the first time I noticed the cancellation penalty not being related to the reservation’s room rate. Is this a recent change in Marriotts policy for traditional cash reservations?

@Lucky wrote a post in March about his frustration with the cancellation policy but it did not touch on fees such as this. Maybe he can dig into it.
