Didn't Delta officially say they are tapped out with Europe to be fair? I'm not a Delta flyer except for on occasion, but they said Asia is there new growth area. So I wouldn't expect to see them add a bunch of new routes in Europe even if they had more aircraft. They have a different strategy and that's fine, we will see who has the right one on AA/UA vs Delta with narrowbody over Atlantic. But they have said they don't see much growth, if any, left in Europe.
I don’t really read this blog too often and will probably avoid it altogether, considering the author seems to be a bit skewed and more interested in taking jabs than actually writing anything of substance.
Well I’m booked on the Riyadh flight, @Ben - why are you saying it might be cancelled? Hopefully not, I’m in D1 trying the smaller cabin and then flying Saudia J to Asia (after reading your review) and super excited to try it out!!
Me thinks AUS-CDG will have a lot of Skymiles/Flying Blue redemptions. It will probably be a non-rev dream.
Surprised they couldn't/didn't get the 339s earlier. It's not like Airbus is awash in demand for them like the A350
Perhaps their long-term models demonstrate a significant chance of decreased demand due to European market saturation due to overtourism, US economic headwinds, and better opportunities elsewhere. Interesting routes like Lincoln Nebraska to London England or Baltimore to Berlin might look good alphabetically, but perhaps do not make business sense.
