Hasn’t the door dash restaurant credit increased from $5/month to $15/month as of October 2026?
I still think the Sapphire Lounges are among the best credit card lounges in the US, although every one I’ve visited has been extremely busy, and the $300 travel credit remains refreshingly simple. What gives me pause is the idea that a $795 premium card is worth it “if you’re willing to put in the effort.” At some point I’d rather my premium card make travel easier than give me another part-time job keeping track of $10 monthly credits and which restaurants, hotels and ticket websites I’m supposed to use. I think the Capital One Venture X gets this balance right: lower annual fee, fewer “benefits” on paper, but much less work required to justify keeping it. I’m not convinced I’ve ever actually gotten enough value from my Sapphire Reserve to offset the annual fee.
I have been a member for over 10 year, I recently got congratulations form them for doing that, and I used it enough to get the Platinum status on IHG, which I hope to use. However, initially both my wife and I had one, we have canceled her's and now just have mine. I like the $300 travel and always use it up. I like the lounge in Boston, it is very nice. We use the strategy of using the freedom card to get 1.5 and feed the Reserve card, that works well. I am not happy about the general travel dropping form 3X to one 1X unless you do it though chase. I am not happy that some of the airlines do not refund, and some do if you have an emergency. AA was great. Swiss Air, we will see... I am disappointed in the 10K Travel Insurance, it is an AI that says no! 0 and 2 with them so far. I would be interested in another card that was not so much work to redeem things?
