The only direct, non stop flight to Manila from Honolulu I could find is with Philippine Airlines.
What is best way to book. Do they even take points beside there own?

Do you have Citi points? They are a non-alliance partner with Etihad, which is a Citi transfer partner

Or you could use a card like the Barclays Arrival Plus or one of the Capital One cards that allows you to earn points – even after the fact – to offset travel charges. If you do pay for the flight you might be able to credit the miles to Etihad or ANA though I don’t know how useful either of those would be to you.
