For our family of 3 I booked the following award (Australia-USA):
SYD – SIN on SQ F
6 hours layover
SIN – DXB on EK F (A380), arriving at 5AM
DXB-JFK on EK F (A380), departing 3PM (i.e. layover ~10 hours).

I have 2 questions:

1) Would I have an access to SQ lounge in SIN (since I arrived on SQ F)
2) We would have 10 hours layover in DXB. What is the best way to spend it – book a hotel or sit in the EK lounge? Does EK lounge has a sleeping rooms or something like that?

Thanks!

SQ doesn’t seem to have an arrivals lounge at Changi. This seems to be a good overview of the lounge options: http://www.loungebuddy.com/singapore-airlines-lounges-in-changi-airport-ultimate-guide/. You could check to see if they will let you use one of them and the article mentions that you might be allowed on a case by case basis.

You could also head to the EK lounge. Ben did a brief review here: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2013/02/06/a380-extravaganza-emirates-lounge-singapore/

There are also quite a few priority pass options (https://www.prioritypass.com/en/Lounges/Asia-Pacific/Singapore/Singapore/Singapore-Changi) and also an airport hotel that you could consider.

As for DXB, Ben’s done a couple of reviews in the last year so those should help you decide:

Good luck.

Dxb immigration queues could be horrendous. Plus all the walking when you check back in. I’d budget in 1.5 hours for dxb immigration and allow 1,5 hours for checking in. Considering the times you’ve got available your best option will be to camp out at the lounge at dxb
