PS MIA: Miami Airport’s New $1,295+ Per Visit Private Terminal Opens

PS (which was initially founded in 2017 as The Private Suite) is a company that operates exclusive airport facilities, intended to allow people to bypass the typical airport experience, when flying commercially. The company’s latest outpost has just opened at Miami International Airport (MIA), so if you have $1,295 to drop to enhance your pre-flight experience, listen up!

Miami Airport’s new private terminal for commercial flights

PS has just opened a new private airport facility for commercial flights at Miami International Airport (MIA), with the ribbon cutting having taken place yesterday (Wednesday, June 17, 2026).

For us aviation geeks, the facility has an absolutely epic home. PS MIA is located in the historic former Pan American Airways (Pan Am) headquarters, which initially opened back in 1963, and was dubbed the “Taj Mahal.” Pan Am went out of business in 1991, so this space has been empty for quite some time.

As it’s described, PS MIA is “dedicated to preserving the building’s iconic mid-century brutalist architecture, while seamlessly integrating finishes and furniture that reference important aspects of the period, Miami’s lively culture and Palm Beach glamour.”

PS offers a unique pre-flight and post-flight experience, serving as an alternative from the main terminal for passengers traveling on commercial flights. The facility takes up 34,000 square feet, and features nine Private Suites (offering a private space for each traveling party) and The Salon (a shared lounge).

PS travelers have access to private TSA and immigration screenings on-site, as well as a BMW chauffeured escort to and from the jet bridge stairs of their commercial flights. While at the facility, you can arrange everything from chef prepared meals, to spa treatments.

For context, the first PS location opened in 2017 in Los Angeles (LAX), the second location opened in 2023 in Atlanta (ATL), and the third location opened in 2026 in Dallas (DFW). So with both the DFW and MIA locations opening just weeks apart, we’ve seen the company’s portfolio double in a very short period of time.

The PS MIA experience starts at $1,295-4,950 per visit

So, how much will a visit to PS MIA cost you? Just for some context, you can find the pricing for PS here:

  • Without a membership, you’ll pay $1,295 per person for access to The Salon (a shared space), or $4,950 for up to four travelers to access a Private Suite (a private space)
  • With the $1,250 The Salon annual membership, you’ll pay $995 per person for access to The Salon, or $4,950 for up to four travelers to access a Private Suite
  • With the $4,850 All Access annual membership, you’ll pay $895 per person for access to The Salon, or $3,650 for up to four travelers to access a Private Suite
PS membership & visit costs

I totally get how there’s value for something like PS at LAX, given the number of celebrities and other very wealthy people passing through the airport, and what a mess the airport can be. Arguably the biggest challenge PS faces is that it’s going after a market of wealthy people who don’t fly private.

Of course that market exists, and it’s significant. But PS is also expensive, so even someone who is well off might think twice about it. That’s especially true when you consider that travel doesn’t have to be a hassle nowadays, with programs like TSA PreCheck, CLEAR, Global Entry, etc.

Maybe I’m biased, but living in Miami, I absolutely see this succeeding, given how people like to live it up in flashy ways. It blows my mind how many people here spend more on their car lease than their rent. Having a Lamborghini and living in a small studio is par for the course in Miami.

I imagine this is also a splurge that many would consider. In Miami, people drop this kind of money without thinking twice about it all the time, and I imagine using this facility will quickly become a flex. How will you know if someone used PS MIA? Oh, trust me, they’ll tell you about it!

Bottom line

The PS concept has now expanded to Miami, with a new facility having opened as of June 2026. PS MIA is located in the former Pan Am headquarters, and looks gorgeous. The idea is that you can skip the terminal, and instead hang out in the lounge, clear security at a private TSA checkpoint, and then be driven to your plane.

As you’d expect, all of this doesn’t come cheap, and without a membership, you’re looking at paying a minimum of $1,295 per person per visit for the experience. Miami seems like the perfect kind of place for a facility like this, and I’m sure this will succeed. As an aviation geek, I also appreciate the building that’s housing this concept.

What do you make of the PS concept expanding to Miami?

This will be great when I fly on my coach 99 dollar flights
But at these low prices aren’t they giving it away?

  2. Brad Guest

The 1% may fly private domestically but often will fly on airlines when going long-haul because those planes are better outfitted for long travel quite frankly. That's the point of La Premiere and Singapore Suites. For someone spending 15-20K on a ticket, using this service is attractive and in a place like Miami, I get it.

  3. Drew Guest

Is there a time limit? To make this worth it you'd need to show up 4 hrs before the flight.

  4. Tom Guest

Why do the interiors look like a hair salon?

    1. Anon Guest

because it’s the flashy women that insist on these kinds of things in miami

    2. Harold Guest

yes good point. its all those women driving around Miami in flashy ferraris/lambos/bugattis. damn them!!!!

The one thing they really need to fix is people using it for connecting flights. It shouldn't cost almost double for a connection and you shouldn't have to reclear security in the facility if it's a domestic to domestic or domestic to intl. Once they fix that, I would use it more often.

    1. Jake212 Guest

You’ve never even used it before so how can you say you’d use it more often? It JUST opened.

I'm SO happy to see this repurposing of the long-abandoned Pan Am building. It really warms my heart. For that reason alone, I hope the project proves viable and remains sustainable for years to come.

I actually think this concept makes a lot of sense at airports that see a lot of wealthy foreign nationals. Foreign nationals from most countries cannot register for Global Entry or TSA Precheck, so for those wealthy individuals who travel to the US frequently (or infrequently), and aren't flying private, they still need to spend hours waiting at immigration, even if they just got off a $10K+ First Class seat. Same with TSA lines (though the foreing nationals immigration line at some terminals in the US is much, much worse in my experience). For people in those circumstances, I absolutely see PS being a great option.

I have a close friend who's family is very wealthy, and they fly to the US multiple times a year from their foreign home country (as they have a place in NYC). However, despite routinely spending thousands on premium cabin tickets, they still have to spend hours at immigration (they aren't eligible for Global Entry).

PS Miami will likely benefit from this crowd, though as Ben said, even the local market will make it work here. I wonder if we will see a PS at JFK and/or EWR anytime soon.

How long before Ben (and maybe Miles who seems to be an aviation geek in his own right) gives this a try? It is the home airport, isn't it?

I wonder how this is even possible to integrate a facility like this into formal airport proceedings.
Can anybody open a private (commercial) facility at a US airport and get it services by TSA and Immigration?

    1. Lee Guest

They pay the federal government for the dedicated TSA and Customs. It's exactly what Delta does for its dedicated TSA at select Delta One departure points. PS has fewer people across which to amortize the expense. Which is why the price is so high. AA used to have a similar service at LAX.

Could I talk myself into spending $1.25K to "splurge" on this? Doubtful. I'll just slum it in the AA FL.

It screams Paris Hilton to me. And I'm not Paris Hilton. LOL.

Wow jesus christ I absolutely hate the decor of the space

    1. TravelinWilly Diamond

Yeah, totes agree. The art screams "Patrick Nagel draft of a Duran Duran album cover ca. 1982."

      That's a very bad thing.

    2. Super Diamond

I'm dying thinking of all the ultra-"masc" influencers in Miami splurging for this and then being too embarrassed to post a picture in what looks like a 10 year old girl's bedroom. It's horrid.

  13. Alert Guest

What a needless waste of money .

  14. 747-400 Gold

I don't really understand the point of this. Who wants to get to the airport early enough to even take advantage of all these amenities? If you're connecting flights, that's one thing. But it doesn't seem like this works for connecting passengers. But if you're originating or terminating in MIA, assuming you're not some sort of VIP celebrity, it seems like more hassle than it's worth.

    1. Traveling Guest

Oh my how you are wrong. You never touch your luggage. You relax in what is essentially a 5* hotel suite for an hour or so, then they drive you to your plane just before it departs. Except for sharing the plane with the great unwashed, it is even better than flying private (most FBOs are pretty dumpy places designed mostly for pilots to hang out). For domestic, it is great. For international, it is life changing. Try it, then say you don’t get it.

    2. Eskimo Guest

For these people, they don't wait hours in FBO either. Jet is ready to go, you walk straight to the plane. Few places don't even have security.

For international, pilots just have more paperwork and takes more time, still not your problem unless you run into issues with CBP.
If you had to wait longer for international flights, it's your pilots.
Unless you're very late or just decided to go or it's not...

Planning and being on time should never take you more than 10 mins car to jet.

i could see this being a fun way to kick off a big international trip. would be super weird to splurge on this and then board a domestic first class flight to DFW or something.

Look forward to your review Ben!!
