Awesome Amex Offer For Neiman Marcus Purchases

Awesome Amex Offer For Neiman Marcus Purchases

14

While I’m usually most focused on Amex Offers from travel brands, there are sometimes deals with retail brands that I think are worth highlighting as well, and this is one of those cases.

At the moment there’s a new targeted Amex Offer for 5,000 bonus Membership Rewards points when you spend $250+ in one or more transactions with Neiman Marcus. The offer is valid for purchases through August 26, 2019.

There’s also a version out there for a $50 statement credit rather than a 5,000 Membership Rewards points bonus, though I’d definitely prefer the points bonus. That’s because I value Membership Rewards points at 1.7 cents each, so that’s the equivalent of an $85 return, by my valuation.

Do be aware of the following terms:

  • This is valid both in-store at US locations and online at neimanmarcus.com
  • Excludes gift cards purchased in-store or online, restaurants and cafés located in-store, and Gift Now transactions
  • Not valid for Neiman Marcus Last Call, Cusp by Neiman Marcus, The Heart of Neiman Marcus, or purchases shipped outside of the US

While I’m not usually a Neiman Marcus customer, the reason I think this is worth highlighting is that most high-end department stores have standardized pricing for big brand items.

For example, whether you’re looking for perfume or skincare products or candles or many clothing items, you’ll pay the same for a specific brand no matter where you buy it.

If you make a purchase online, be sure you also use an online shopping portal to earn even further rewards.

Bottom line

If you’d otherwise consider making a purchase with another high-end department store, this is definitely a reason to shop with Neiman Marcus instead. I value the 5,000 Membership Rewards points at a roughly 35% return, plus whatever you’d earn through a shopping portal and your credit card spending.

I usually do not get the AMEX Offers featured on here, but I DID get this one.

The one I really liked was for $10 credit on a $75+ Department Store purchase, which included Saks. I combined that with a 10% rebate from Rakuten and my July-December $50 AMEX Saks credit to knock $70 off a $100 shirt purchase.

    Neiman-Marcus is still a thing?

Neiman Marcus is near bankrupt and desperate for customers.. do not believe their gift card with purchase .hundreds to thousands have been ripped off and had to complain to BBB and online .. No offer from them can be trusted

I'd pay that price for a stay there. I'd have a blast running around trying on all the clothes. Do they have bedding sections like some dept. stores? hmmmm... if only I were 23 and a youtuber. lol

Note that on top of these offers, Neiman has a promo through tomorrow evening (10pm CDT) where online purchases that include at least one regular-priced item of at least $200 earn gift cards of $50 for $200 total, $125 for $500 total, $250 for $1k, and $500 for $2k. So if you have the 5k points offer at Lucky's valuation and bundle it with this promo, you're getting a 50% discount on a $250 purchase.

My Plat card had only the one additional MR point for each dollar spent, but my Gold card had *both* that deal and the 5,000 MR points for $250 purchase deals -- so 5,250 for $250 total.

Noticed a couple other big ones too. 15,000 MR points for $500+ spend on Rimowa and 30,000 MR points for $1500+ spend on Casper mattresses.

I was not targeted for this specific offer. Rather, my offer was for one additional MR point for each dollar spent (2x points total) at Neiman Marcus. Valid through 9/30/19. So, far less attractive!

Ford getting a nice bottle of Tom Ford cologne I hope ;)

Does this stack up if we book a stay at Neiman Marcus through FHR? :p

This stacks with another new Amex Offer offering $10 off $75 for US department store purchases, which includes Neiman Marcus in the T&C.

  11. Daniel

    I got $50 off a $250 purchase.
