The Amex Offers program has just rolled out two great targeted offers for the purchase of Virgin Atlantic flights, which could be worth considering for anyone planning a transatlantic trip.
In this post:
Spend $1,800+ with Virgin Atlantic, save $250
With a new targeted Amex Offers deal, you can earn a $250 statement credit when you spend $1,800 or more with Virgin Atlantic by March 30, 2025.

There are some terms to be aware of:
- The flight needs to be booked directly through the Virgin Atlantic website
- The flight needs to originate in the United States and be charged in USD
- While you need to book by March 30, 2025, it’s okay if you travel on subsequent dates
- The offer is not valid for purchases by phone, at terminals, lounges, or on-board flights
It’s possible that there’s also a version of the offer for 25,000 bonus Membership Rewards points if spending $1,800+. If so, I’d definitely prefer that offer, since I value Amex points at 1.7 cents each, so those points would be worth $425 to me.
While I can’t guarantee it, I suspect that carrier imposed surcharges on award tickets will likely trigger this offer, given that they should be processed the same as any other airfare purchase.
Spend $1,200+ with Virgin Atlantic through Amex Travel, save $200
There are actually two targeted Amex Offers deals that can save you money with Virgin Atlantic, with the second one being for bookings through Amex Travel. Specifically, you can earn a $200 statement credit when you spend $1,200 or more on Virgin Atlantic via Amex Travel by February 28, 2025.

There are some terms to be aware of:
- The flight needs to be booked through Amex Travel, either through the website, the app, or by phone
- The itinerary needs to be marketed and operated by Virgin Atlantic
- While you need to book by February 28, 2025, it’s okay if you travel on subsequent dates
- The offer isn’t valid for flight and hotel packages

Bottom line
There are currently two targeted Amex Offers deals that can save you money on a Virgin Atlantic trip. One offer can save you $250 when spending $1,800+ directly with Virgin Atlantic, while another offer can save you $200 when spending $1,200+ on Virgin Atlantic flights through Amex Travel. If you’re planning travel on Virgin Atlantic, this has the potential to be a great deal.
Were you targeted for these Amex Offer deals, and if so, do you plan on taking advantage of them?
Virgin really only good for trips to London, Edinburgh or Manchester, occasionally elsewhere in economy class only.
Good morning Ben,
Thanks for the heads up about the Amex offer when spending directly with Virgin Atlantic. I just logged onto my Amex account and saved it. I got received the offer for spending through Amex Travel for a few weeks now. Both offers on my Platinum Card.
I am planning a trip to London in late May/early June, so this is helpful....
I have 10 cards with AMEX and not a single one has this offer...
