Singapore KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale: 25% Off Awards

Singapore KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale: 25% Off Awards

4

Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer program has just launched a Global Redemption Sale, whereby you can save 25% off the cost of an award ticket across a variety of routes, for a travel period of several months. We haven’t seen this offer in about a year, so it’s cool to see it return. It’s separate from the program’s Spontaneous Escapes Sale, which is available monthly, and is much more restrictive.

Save 25% on Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer awards

With the new Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale, you can save 25% off the cost of a saver award ticket for travel on Singapore Airlines:

  • This is valid for bookings between September 9 and September 22, 2024
  • This is valid for travel between January 15 and May 29, 2025; select markets have some blackout dates, and you can find them all here
  • This is valid for all Singapore Airlines destinations in economy, and select destinations in business and premium economy
  • This is valid for redemptions made via Singapore Airlines’ website or mobile app, and the discounted price should automatically be shown

Is this KrisFlyer promotion worth it?

It’s cool to see a promotion from KrisFlyer with such a long travel window, since you can lock in travel now for a period of several month in early 2025. If you’re interested in redeeming for economy, this is an excellent opportunity, as there are few restrictions.

What about in premium cabins?

  • With this promotion, business class redemptions are largely restricted to intra-Asia routes, so this won’t be useful for most long haul markets
  • However, there are many discounted long haul premium economy redemptions, including for travel on some of the world’s longest flights, to New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), and San Francisco (SFO)
There are some great premium economy redemptions

Bottom line

Singapore KrisFlyer has launched a Global Redemption Sale, whereby you can save 25% off most redemptions. This includes all flights in economy, as well as select flights in premium economy and business. This offers a much longer travel window than the usual Spontaneous Escapes Sale, so I imagine this will interest many.

Do you plan on taking advantage of the KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale?

Finally! A Singapore KrisFlyer promo that I happen to be able to use. Booked SIN-DPS in Business next February for 15,750/pp x 2 and am happy with that redemption

I transferred in from Chase UR just enough points (took a little under 24 hours to show up in my KrisFlyer account). I have learned the hard way to not have KrisFlyer miles sitting around with that 36 month expiration date rule.

I guess this is great for people who have unaffiliated credit card points, available to transfer. But otherwise, it's hard to understand banking miles with Singapore Airlines, due to that ridiculous hard-expiration date! And then there's that waitlist-until-we-dump-you-with-no-recourse aspect of their mileage redemptions.

For such a great airline, they have what can easily be claimed as the worst frequent flier program out there, and that's sad. Even Skymiles has far better value than that.

I was about to say and then there is Skymiles, another great airline (or at least best of the US majors) with a disappointing award program.

And this beats Skymiles by far by having a GENEROUS 12 day booking period, VS. Skymiles where they are like "here is a great award redemption deal for a long haul international flight, available for the next 24 hours - plan fast!"

Do we ever see KrisFlyer's sales cover suites or first redemptions?
