Link: Apply now for the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card with 90K bonus points
The Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card is one of the best business credit cards out there, and is part of the Chase Ink Business card portfolio. While this card has long had a generous welcome bonus, several weeks back we saw an improved offer introduced.
In this post:
Chase Ink Preferred Card 90K bonus points offer
The Chase Ink Preferred Card has a welcome offer of 90,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $8,000 within the first three months.
Personally I value Chase Ultimate Rewards points at 1.7 cents each, meaning the 90,000 points are worth $1,530 to me, which is massive. There are lots of great uses of Chase points, as they can be transfered to all kinds of useful airline and hotel partners.
Even if you don’t want to transfer the rewards to travel partners, the 90,000 points will get you at least $1,125 toward travel, or $1,350 toward travel in conjunction with the Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card (review).
Who is eligible for the Chase Ink Preferred Card bonus?
The Chase Ink Preferred Card has pretty straightforward eligibility requirements, and follows Chase’s general card application rules:
- Eligibility for the bonus on this card is unrelated to whether you have any other Chase card, including the other Chase Ink cards, like the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card (review) and Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card (review)
- As a matter of fact, you can get multiple multiple Chase Ink Preferred cards for different businesses (and receive all the benefits, including the welcome offer, for each); so if you have one for a corporation, you could also apply for one for a sole proprietorship, and hold them concurrently
- This card may be subjected to Chase’s 5/24 rule, which is to say that you may not be approved if you’ve opened five or more new card accounts in the past 24 months (this excludes many business cards); however, there are increasingly data points that this rule is no longer consistently enforced
- It’s generally considered a best practice to not apply for more than one Chase business credit card every 30 days, so I’d recommend observing that limit when applying
While Chase business cards can be tough to get approved for, they offer such fantastic bonuses and perks, so it’s worth the effort, in my opinion. Furthermore, it’s nice how the eligibility requirements aren’t too strict in terms of qualifying for the bonus.

Why the Chase Ink Preferred Card is worth it
The Chase Ink Preferred Card has a $95 annual fee, and offers all kinds of amazing perks that make it worth holding onto. Among other things, here’s what makes the card so valuable:
- The card has an amazing rewards structure, as it offers 3x points on travel, shipping purchases, internet, cable, and phone services, and advertising purchases made with social media sites and search engines (on up to $150K in combined purchases every cardmember year)
- The card offers a cell phone protection benefit, which can get you up to $1,000 per claim in cell phone protection against covered theft or damage (with a $100 deductible)
- The card offers primary rental car coverage, which can come in handy if you rent cars with any frequency
- The card offers valuable travel protection, in the event of irregular operations with your travel, delayed bags, etc.
- Having this card allows you to maximize the value of the amazing no annual fee Chase Ink cards; this allows you to create a great Chase card trifecta, making it easy to maximize points

Bottom line
The Chase Ink Preferred Card is one of the best business cards out there; if you’re eligible for the card, I’d highly recommend applying.
Not only does the card have a massive bonus, but it’s worth holding onto for the great rewards structure, excellent protection benefits, and the ability to maximize other cards in the Chase ecosystem.
Do you plan on picking up the Chase Ink Preferred Card with the current offer?
Thought I’d put in a data point from my approval experience. Filled out the form as per guidance from Ben and the guys over at Frequent Miler and actually got an instant approval. I was surprised given how Ben tends to day that it will likely go to pending. Credit line was… very limited unfortunately, but still good enough to get the welcome bonus.
If I get this card, can I transfer chase reward points from Freedom card to this one so I can transfer to airline partners?
I’m stuck with the freedom card and have a lot points there but they are virtually unusable as I don’t want to book travel through Chase.
Yes.
I have a question perhaps a bit unique - so appreciate you weighing in on it as getting a solid response from Chase has been difficult. We have a business with five owners, and we'd like to apply for the Chase Ink Business Preferred, earn both the sign up bonus and the ongoing Ultimate Reward points and then be able to transfer those points from the business account to each owners' personal Chase Ultimate Reward...
I have a question perhaps a bit unique - so appreciate you weighing in on it as getting a solid response from Chase has been difficult. We have a business with five owners, and we'd like to apply for the Chase Ink Business Preferred, earn both the sign up bonus and the ongoing Ultimate Reward points and then be able to transfer those points from the business account to each owners' personal Chase Ultimate Reward accounts (as they are all loyal Chase credit card customers personally).
I've read that linking online is limited to only one other card, but also that the rules are a bit different for business accounts and joint owners could be connected for UR transfers.
Do you have any experience with this?
I got this card less than a month ago with 100k bonus. Is writing a secure message to them asking for the extra 20k point worth trying?
I mean it costs you basically nothing to reach out, worst they can do is say no.
@ Dave -- It can't hurt to try, so I'd definitely give it a shot. :-)
I got a response yesterday - no luck! They would not match.
Yes.
I got this card last year in August. Since then, I’ve been under the 5/24 rule and haven’t had another Chase card. I’m curious if I can get the sign-up bonus (SUB) again if I cancel my current card and reapply for it after a few days. Has anyone tried this strategy recently, and did it work?
don't need to cancel, just apply again
I got this card last year in August. I am under 5/24 and haven't had a Chase card since then.
Would I be able to get the SUB for this card if I cancel it and then get it again a couple of days later?
Got this earlier this year via my private banker. Glad everyone else gets it now. Got me to think about dropping my CSR since the only thing I would be missing out on is the extra .0025 when redeeming thru the portal.
My wife has had this card for a number of years. Can she downgrade it to a free chase business card and apply for this new offer and get the SUB?
I read that if you had just gotten approved recently, you can ask to have this offer applied to you instead of the 100k. I got approved last month, so I sent over a message and hopefully it works!
Referral offer is 100k… wonder if they will bump that up soon too. Would be nice to get 120k with the 40k referral before the big referral bonus ends in September.
This happened to me on another ink card and I was able to contact customer service who said they would honor the higher bonus once I've reached the required spend. I replied to their email once I reached the spend and I received the additional points a few days later.
Is this offer available to me if P2 refers me?
@ fedarko -- Often the referral offers are only loaded at a later point, so that could be the case here as well.
Ben,
Can you post an update when the bonus via referral is 120,000 points?
@ Paul B -- Yep, I'll try to provide an update! :-)
Are you allowed to refer to yourself (i.e. bonus will post) if you have a referral link and another ink card?
@ Gregg -- Based on what I've heard, that's generally not allowed and gets people in trouble.
Agreed, not yourself, but I've done a spouse with no issues.
Can I apply to this if I'm preapproved but I already have Ink Cash (got 9 months ago)? I'm becoming a landlord and could justify that as a business. Will I be subject to any card limits? Is Chase like Amex where they say you're preapproved but then prevent you from getting the sign up bonus with something similar to a 'pop up jail' message?
@ Trey -- You're absolutely eligible for the card if you otherwise have the Ink Cash, as Chase has no issues approving people for different kinds of business cards. Chase isn't like Amex when it comes to the pop-up issues that prevent earning the bonus. Let me know if you have any other questions. :-)
