Link: Apply now for The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express
The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express has just introduced a welcome offer. While it might not sound like much, the card didn’t previously have a publicly available welcome offer, and this is one of the most rewarding Amex cards there is. In this post I wanted to go over the details of this card’s offer for new members.
In this post:
Amex Blue Business Plus offering 15K bonus points
The Amex Blue Business Plus Card currently has a welcome offer where you can earn 15,000 bonus Membership Rewards points after spending $3,000 within the first three months.
The card previously didn’t have a welcome offer at all. And while this might not sound like much, this is a card on which Amex doesn’t need to have a big welcome offer, given how lucrative it is.
Personally, I value Amex Membership Rewards points at 1.7 cents each, meaning the 15,000 points are worth $255. There are lots of great uses for Amex points, as they can be transferred to all kinds of airline and hotel partners.
Note that some people may be targeted for bigger welcome offers by logging into their Amex accounts, and if you see one of those, you absolutely should take advantage of it. However, this is the best publicly available bonus.
Who is eligible for the Amex Blue Business Plus Card offer?
In line with Amex’s “once in a lifetime” rule, the welcome offer on the Amex Blue Business Plus Card isn’t available to those who currently have the card, or those who have had the card in the past. On top of that, Amex’s general card restrictions apply.
If you’re worried about Chase’s 5/24 limit, applying for an Amex business card won’t count toward that limit. Furthermore, anecdotally I find Amex business cards to be quite easy to get approved for, assuming you have excellent credit. In my experience they’re much easier to be approved for than business cards with other issuers.
Why the Amex Blue Business Plus Card is worth it
The Amex Blue Business Plus Card has no annual fee (Rates & Fees), yet is one of Amex’s most lucrative cards. The card earns 2x Amex Membership Rewards points on the first $50,000 spent every calendar year (and then you earn 1x points after that). Based on my valuation of Amex points, that’s like a 3.4% return on spending.
That makes this one of the best cards for everyday spending, and one of the best cards for earning Amex Membership Rewards points. If you’re collecting Amex points, then it’s an absolute no-brainer to have this card, as you won’t find another Amex card offering this level of return outside of bonus categories.
Beyond that, there are a couple more reasons to pick up this card:
- This card gives you access to the Amex Offers program, which can potentially save you quite a bit of money and earn you bonus points with a variety of retailers
- This is a hub card that allows you pool all your Amex Membership Rewards points, in case you decide you want to close out other Amex cards that have an annual fee; so this would allow you to maintain your points, and transfer them to Amex’s airline and hotel partners

Bottom line
The Amex Blue Business Plus Card finally has a welcome offer, allowing you to earn 15,000 bonus Membership Rewards points upon completing minimum spending. This isn’t a card that you get for the welcome offer, but rather it’s a card you get because it has no annual fee, and offers an industry leading return on everyday spending. It’s a card that I have, and one that I spend money on.
Do you plan on picking up the Amex Blue Business Plus Card with the current welcome offer?

Yeah not naive about how blogs make money but yikes at putting this one out with a 75k offer on the loose.
I guess it's a targeted offer, but just nabbed a 75K offer for $15K spend in 12 months.
@ JoePro -- That's obviously a much better offer, but it's my understanding that it's highly targeted. Went ahead and updated the post to reflect the possibility of better targeted offers.
I got the same exact offer.
Could be. Weirdly I didn't even see the offer under my account, but it populated when I signed in and used an external link.
