"In an era where six-figure welcome offers are the norm". Therein lies the problem. All programs seem to manage this with periodic, unexpected, and randomly timed dilution of the value of the miles. For those without access to the "six-figure" rewards, redemption schemes are becoming useless. As more and more individuals accumulate large sums of miles that they cannot exchange for flights either because they do not have enough to do so or because there is no availability, people are going to shy away from the expensive credit cards. Credit card companies will have less revenue. Consequently, airlines will receive less in the next contract renewal with the credit card companies. The airlines have become dependent on this revenue, and they are not profitable, in general without it, so there will be real airline business consequences. Combine this with the inevitable business cycle downturn and it will not be pretty in the airline business in two or three years.
Nah. The card is weak. And it has foreign transaction fee. And If I had a six figure business I’d pony up and get either the CSR or VX for business. Chase should allow ink premier to earn UR points with that annual fee.
