We had a brief stopover at a little airport like that when we were in Peru a few years ago. Just a single runway with no taxiway, and a tiny terminal building next to it in the middle. Our A320 felt so huge and out of place parked next to this little shack.

I thought the Paro airport was...cute.
Druk Air has a business class lounge upstairs *before* immigration/security. We didn't know this, so we went through immigration/security and then asked, and were informed where to go. We simply walked out the same way we came in, and then to board we just told immigration what we did and they waved us through, so I do get the sense that a lot of people make the mistake we made.
I wasn't even expecting a biz. lounge for Druk Air, so it was a pleasant surprise.
The foreign words on the refreshing tissue is actually in Thai. I wonder how they got there...
Well, at least the airport in Paro is nicer than the one in Kathmandu, even if it is only a fraction of the size.

It is always nice to see that you can still get service on airlines. It's sad that go more food and more service in economy class there than on LAX-SFO in first class, an without risking of being beaten up! 🙁
Love it when people simply enjoy the miracle of flight. Just last week, we were treated some great views of Detroit, Windsor and Point Pelee on a flight from ORD to YYZ. It's amazing to see how many people don't care about the views, playing games on their mobile phones.
It appears there IS a transit visa for Bangladesh. According to the Visit Bangladesh website, a 72 hour visa should've only been equivent to US$20.00.
