In 2021, we saw the launch of Breeze Airways, a new ultra low cost carrier founded by serial airline entrepreneur David Neeleman (also behind JetBlue, WestJet, Azul, and more).

They are so wildly unreliable at XNA - if you book them, you pretty much have to assume that your arrival time will be at least an hour later than scheduled, probably 2-3.

It’s anecdotal I know, but it seems like every time I fly in or out of XNA (3-4 times a month), there is a Breeze flight that’s delayed.

Friends flew XNA-MSY last week and arrived 3 hours late (10:30pm). I guess that’s still better than connecting on this particular route, but annoying nonetheless. The flight was continuing to MCO and lord knows what time it actually got there.

And of course if they cancel, you’re completely out of luck.

I can attest to some of the comments made in the article as I live in one of its focus cities. Service to LAX came and went in a flash!!! Not even enough time to get a reservation in. Same thing with a city in Florida. Also, few, if any, in my town even know of Breeze. Maybe a blurb on the news about a new route, but that's it.
As for its financials, odd for so much cash is exiting via the "other" category. My guess is the venture capitalist who initially financed the airline are recouping their investment immediately via dividends or repayment of short term debt. Should Breeze go public, it will need to put several years of its past financials in standard GAAP format with full disclosure to fully inform potential investors. Thats when we find out where the cash has gone.

A loss of 26% is much lower of a loss that 51% plus. It also is interesting to see that the amount of the loss seems to be seasonal. Some quarters only done 20(ish)% whereas others 50%+.

Breeze is an LCC not a ULCC.

It would be interesting to explore Brezze’s value to a larger airline, specifically for its order book. There is much chatter around the industry of Southwest acquiring Breeze, specifically, in light of the MAX7 certification issues.

nobody knows who they are and your taking a huge chance if you book them more than 30 days out because they will cancel the whole destination on you in a flash and your just screwed

Neeleman has run his course in the airline biz. He’s had more bad than good. Remember, he was fired by both SWA and JetBlue. He had a lot of issues at Azul and no longer runs that airline.

It’s Breeze middle management that are a big issue as they really aern’t good at what they do. They brought their Allegiant culture, which is toxic, to Breeze and it’s ruining the airline.

Multiple fleet changes, the A220 is another white elephant, multiple city pair and route changes and the list goes on.

They are spending a lot of money having to replace employees that leave because people go and find out quickly what David Neeleman and Breeze is really like. DN had a recent meltdown after his pilot’s protested.

Breeze is a real mess.

Breeze was to serve underserved markets but went head to head with the majors at well served airports. Case in point, Breeze went to BDL, a well served domestic airport while Avelo went to HVN and HVN has turned into it's largest base serving 26 cities. Breeze ordered a large fleet of new planes, Avelo added used 737NG's at a slow pace. Time will tell.

I am flying them today from lax to Norfolk. So far no issues. The gate was the farthest gate in the airport and if had to do checked luggage you need to take a bus.

I was hired as an off the Street Captain by Breeze after they got their first A220-300. After three days I left. After listening to all the presentations it became obvious the Business model made no sense. Flights to cities only once a day several times a week, and seasonal as well. if there were problems with an airplane what then?. There was only one person in the world who could check out pilots in the simulator and he was backed up 6 months. Everything was constantly in a state of flux, although they had been in business 2 years. When you told someone about a problem, rather than fixing the problem, they would say it'z OK we're a start-up, that's to be expected. And nothing changed. I ran from that place,,

Breeze is the most unethical, morally corrupt and unsafe airlines in the World. Tom Doxey the President just quit.

Pretty sad that you wouldn't even give them a chance. You know they're turning a profit now, right? So much for the business model not making sense.

What is your evidence? Saying something like this is easy without anything to back it up
