You got me on the golf cart ride to the Secret Beach, Jeremy ! Driving back from the beach to town in a said (gas powered and rather noisy) golf cart, I decided -the sporty driver I am- to pass two local ladies. They took it as a personal challenge for a race, around and through muddy puddles of water on the dirt road. It looked hilarious.
Ha! Yes. The golf carts were entertainment in their own right. I'll never turn down a golf cart race with a stranger. A solid crowd of good people all around there, in my experience.
Great to have add'l contributors, Ben. That said, even though the contributor is a decent writer, my sense is that others will contribute way-too-long articles. Brevity is the name of the game. Plus, Ben, you really should "flag" the contributor articles, in the spirit of readers using their time wisely.
Also, I agree with most of what was written. My wife and I were there a couple of years ago, soon after the property opened as a Marriott. Points stay. Suites are magnificent; ours had huge sliders on both ends of the unit - ocean breezes as much as we wanted. Food and beverage on-site was excellent. Local food options terrific too; we dined nearby in everything from dirt floor dives to their version of fine dining. I too am a Tropic Air fan (there's a second local carrier with more limited service). A 15-passenger Caravan with a turbine engine and a great view out the front is a blast on a 20-minute flight/
It is fascinating to read of your career journey that has brought you here. Generationally, my husband and I are Gen X to Boomer. While we both are obsessed with travel (both the “how” and “where”), earlier in our lives we did not see the opportunity to merge vocation with avocation. So, we continued on the typical corporate paths which allowed for only very limited periods of recreational time to pursue our passion. Now, finally, that we have shed those work shackles, we are free to go where we want when we want. Kudos to you and Ben for finding a different path. And, best of luck!

It was a good one if you have a chance to check it out at some point. The staff and food were great. I even managed to wake up early one morning for yoga on the beach.
