Review: British Airways Club Europe Frankfurt to London Heathrow
I got to the departure gate, D1, at around 10:15AM, shortly before boarding was scheduled to begin. Unfortunately the inbound aircraft had just arrived and there was a crew change, so we were nowhere close to starting boarding. At around 10:30AM the gate agent made an announcement informing us of the delay, saying that boarding…

The product is appalling but a very good report! Really looking forward to your trip report of the BA A380.
What airline does the gold plane (third last pic) belong to? Looks suspiciously like BA's livery except it's gold. Oh, is that OpenSkies?
I find the US - EU comparison interesting. Flights tend to be short in EU (UK to Cyprus is prob longest, and feels long though the view of the Greek Islands is nice). So seats are less comfortable that the US but the food is better.
Sorry Ben but that hot towel picture is really disgusting. Would you consider to remove it?
@ hkairlinenews -- That's a British Airways special livery, the Olympic dove plane.
Is there any airport worse than Heathrow? Simply don't understand why so much traffic heads there instead of the continent……...
Stupid question, but do you prefer US domestic first class with no food and better seats or Europe where there's food, but worse seats?
@ Travis -- Not a stupid question at all. I'd take the more comfortable seats (and usually wifi) with zero service any day.
Oh those BA seats with the worthless little drink tray in the armrest are the worst. As I recall, you can't move the armrest out of the way even if you don't have anybody ext to you.
This is going way back - but does anybody remember USAir's short-lived experiment with the BA style seats for domestic flights? I believe it was for a (mercifully) short period of time back in the 90s. At the time US and BA were partners.
Just wondering- does anyone know why EuroBiz is that way with the blocked middle seat? The airline is delivering a hard product inferior to US domestic first but has the same revenue generation capability. Conversely, if they're really under pressure from LCCs, why not just turn all these EuroBiz seats into US style extended legroom premium economy? Is it a regulatory thing? Ease of conversion to one class charter use? I don't understand the economics of this...
@ curious -- The primary reason behind European business class is that you can convert the size of the business class cabin on a flight by flight basis in only a few minutes. So you're able to operate a flight with only one row of business class if there's heavy economy class demand, and on the next flight have a dozen rows of business class.
I flew Club Europe from Heathrow to Istanbul, as part of a first class ticket from Phoenix to Istanbul. After paying over three times economy fare for my ticket, I was shocked and disappointed at the inferior quality of Club Europe. First, the leg room (30") was among the worst, even compared to budget airlines like RyanAir. The seat was a cheap economy seat with the middle seat of the 3 blocked. Nothing else. Four hours of misery. I will never fly Club Europe again. I will never book a British Airways ticket that includes Club Europe. My outrage onboard the plane included the words "fraud" and "refund". My formal complaint to BA elicited a polite denial of any compensation for this horrible experience. Do not fly Club Europe!
What an appauling experience . Unfortunately I too fell victim to this type of product flying from LHR to ATH. The issue I have with BA is their over the top marketing campaign suggesting that club Europe is premium , bla bla bla. What a joke this airline is. Robert , if only I read your post before booking my flight , I would have reconsidered.
