@ elsie -- Not with AAdvantage miles unless it's one of their distance based explorer awards.

Would it be possible to earn status miles/points for AA members on Qantas marketed but Emirates operated flights? The AA website sounds like it is possible...

Also would it be possible to redeem AA miles on Emirates flights using Qantas flight codes?

@ jim -- You wouldn't be able to earn or redeem American miles for travel on Emirates, regardless of whether or not it's a Qantas coded/marketed flight, unfortunately.

AA wont allow Europe to Australia via Middle East so thIs is a minus for those looking to burn AA miles, no?

@ aussie -- Since it's a "direct" flight it shouldn't be an issue.

Currently Qantas flies between Australia and London via Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong. All of these will have leg between Asia and UK dropped (and flight between Australia and Asia retimed) when the new route via Dubai starts.
