It’s Amazon Prime Day through midnight PT today, so there are lots of great deals to be had for Amazon purchases.
It looks like there’s now yet another way to get rewarded even more for Amazon purchases, which will extend well beyond Prime Day.
There’s a new Amex Offer for two bonus Membership Rewards points per dollar spent with Amazon through August 28, 2018. To view Amex Offers, go to the bottom of the account summary page of any American Express card, where you’ll see all the offers you’re eligible for. These offers come in different forms, including discounts and even in some cases bonus points.
In this case you can earn two bonus Membership Rewards points per dollar spent, which potentially means you can earn up to four Membership Rewards points per dollar spent with Amazon.
For example, The Blue Business℠ Plus Credit Card from American Express offers 2x Membership Rewards points on the first $50,000 spent annually, so you’d earn a total of 4x Membership Rewards points if you had the offer on that card. For cards like The Platinum Card® from American Express you’d earn a total of 3x Membership Rewards points per dollar spent.
This is a great offer. While it is targeted, it at least seems to be pretty widely targeted, meaning that I see it on several cards.
This will be useful for the next several weeks, though is perhaps especially useful for any purchases you make today. As I’ve written about, you can:
- Receive a $5 promotional credit when you buy at least a $25 Amazon gift card using promotion code code GCPRIME18 at check-out (more promo information here)
- Buy Bose QuietComfort 25 Headphones for just $125, and potentially much less, as I’ll explain below (more promo information here)
- Save 20% by redeeming one Amex Membership Rewards point towards the cost of your purchase, which can save you up to $100; you must register for the promotion here (more promo information here)
- If you’ve already taken advantage of the 20% off promotion or it hasn’t worked for you, try using promotion code AMEXSWP20PD at check-out while also redeeming one Amex Membership Rewards point (more promo information here)
It’s sort of incredible just how many Amazon promotions there are right now. Those that use Amazon with any frequency probably view any savings or bonus offers there as being the equivalent of cash in your pocket, so hopefully lots of you are able to take advantage of these deals for your Amazon shopping.
