Amex Offer: Save $45 On A $250+ Hilton Or Curio Stay

In the interest of full disclosure, One Mile At A Time earns a referral bonus for anyone that’s approved through some of the below links. These are the best publicly available offers that we have found for each card. Opinions expressed here are the author's alone, not those of the bank, credit card issuer, airlines or hotel chain, and have not been reviewed, approved or otherwise endorsed by any of these entities. Please check out my advertiser policy for further details about our partners, including American Express, Capital One, Chase, and Citi, and thanks for your support!

For those of you not familiar with Amex Offers, it’s a program available through most Amex cards, where different cards are eligible for different savings and bonus offers. In many cases the offers can be huge, and more than offset the annual fee on a card.

To view Amex Offers, go to the bottom of the account summary page of any American Express card, where you’ll see all the offers you’re eligible for. These offers come in different forms, including discounts and even in some cases bonus points. A new offer has just launched that’s very similar to an offer we saw late last year and also an offer we saw earlier last year.

At the moment there’s a targeted Amex Offer for $45 back when you spend $250+ at Hilton Hotels & Resorts or Curio Collection properties. The offer is valid for stays at participating properties through April 30, 2018. The promotion is only valid for stays at US properties (including US territories), and isn’t valid at any Hilton family brands other than Hilton or Curio.

Given the relationship between American Express and Hilton, we’ve seen quite a few Amex Offers from them over the years, so this is only the latest option from them that can be valuable.

This promotion is targeted, though it at least seems to be pretty widely targeted. For example, in my case I see the offer on The Platinum Card® from American ExpressThe Business Platinum® Card from American ExpressThe Blue Business℠ Plus Credit Card from American Express, The Hilton Honors Ascend Card from American Express, and The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card.

Boulders Resort & Spa, a Curio Collection property

One great scenario is if you get this offer on the Hilton Honors Ascend Card or The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card, since you can earn 12x Hilton Honors points for your spend, plus get the equivalent of 18% back on your $250 of spend in the form of the $45 statement credit.

If you book a stay costing significantly more than $250, you can always ask them to charge multiple credit cards at check-out, so you put $250 on an Amex card, and then the residual on another card that offers the most bonus points for your stay.

Was your account targeted for this Hilton Amex offer, and do you plan on taking advantage of it?

  1. God…there is just nothing that draws me to Hilton. I’ve stayed at a handful of them, including a handful of very nice Waldorf’s, but it’s just blah.

  2. I just cashed all my Hilton points for 5 nights in Queenstown and 3 in Auckland…….Never go back to any of the properties or the island…………Hawaii cheaper, closer and they don’t have fascist immigration in Hawaii……….

  3. Many have brought it up: wondering if the reason you are not writing/addressing the Hilton AMEX Aspire Card because there is no referral link for you… That would be a shame as it would put you in the same boat as Gary. 🙁

  4. If staying multiple nights, I suggest not paying with separate cards at checkout but throughout your stay. I have done this by saying to the front desk that I would like to pay part of my bill that day.

  5. Headed to the Hilton Park Lane next week and thanks to this, I’m now registered through my biz gold open.

  6. @Joe, what is wrong if Lucky or OMAAT doesn’t write about the Amex Aspire? His blog and he can write or do anything he wishes for. You and me are not paying for the contents, so we simply are not entitled to anything.

  7. I have the Plat, Everyday Preferred and Aspire card and was targeted with the offer on all three. Needless to say I used the Aspire to capture it. Every little bit helps.

  8. I assume you must have a stay post to your card that has a check in and check out within that range? I couldn’t pre-pay a stay for like May 3rd and still get the credit, could I?

  9. Redeemed this offer tonight at Hilton, immediately got an email stating they loaded another $45 offer for Hilton Garden Inns, $250 minimum spend expires 5/31. For those of us that travel for work and can get reimbursed these offer are a no brainer regardless of how you feel about the chain.

Get a 1X $45 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend $250+ on room rate & room charges after you pay for your stay with DoubleTree by Hilton™ from 3/1-5/31/18. Book direct with DoubleTree by Hilton™. See terms.

  10. Does anyone know if the $250 has to be in one transaction? I have a couple stays coming up, one with room charges that will be $248 (plus tax) and the other around $125. Not sure if I’ll have any other Hilton stays during the required time period.

If not, would a parking charge or dining charge put me over the top for the stay that includes the $248 total room rate? I’m a little unclear on the T&Cs regarding what exactly “room rate and room charges” are.
