In Accor-dance with my official status as OMAAT’s Accor-espondent, I wanted to let you know about a potentially valuable AccorHotels promotion.

One of Accor’s biggest sales of the year is going on at the moment. It features a pretty extensive list of participating hotels around the world, from budget brands like Ibis to more upscale ones like Swissotel and Fairmont. The sale offers 30% off the flexible unrestricted rate, with breakfast included at some hotels.

For most regions, the offer is only valid for bookings through June 1 (tomorrow!), for stays from July 6 through September 2, 2018. For stays in the Asia Pacific region, the stay window is much longer — June 15, 2018, to June 14, 2019.

A few other terms and conditions to be aware of:

The 30% discount is based on the FLEXIBLE UNRESTRICTED RATE for the dates requested upon booking.
Breakfast may be included in some hotels. Please refer to the hotel’s terms and conditions for rates.

– Payment must be made online using a credit card at the time of booking. At booking, if the SuperSale rate is not available for the dates requested, another public rate will automatically be proposed on the rate screen.
– This offer cannot be modified, cancelled, exchanged or reimbursed after booking. The offer cannot be combined with other discounts or special offers.
– Rates are per night in a single or double room. Exchange rates are supplied for information only and are not contractual. The exchange rate will not be confirmed until booking (if payment is made in a currency other than the one used by the hotel, exchange rate fees may be applied).
– Offer only available in respect of a limited number of rooms at participating hotels. Offer subject to right of participating hotels to block out certain dates from the advertised sale period.

In Asia Pacific, free breakfast is granted to Le Club AccorHotels members. The creation of a Le Club AccorHotels account is required. If you are not a member yet, you can join online for free. If you are a member, you’ll need to log in to enjoy the free breakfast. Otherwise, you cannot take advantage of this offer. Be or become a member of Le Club Accorhotels. Members must present their card upon check-in at the hotel (or their member number if they have not yet received their card). A maximum of two (2) rooms at the members’ rate can be booked per member, per staying date.

Doing a few quick searches, it looks like there is decent availability in various cities.

I will say that in some of the searches I did, the rates it was showing as part of the promo weren’t 30% off — they were more like 5% off. Maybe since I was searching multiple nights and the promo was only available for one of the nights? I’m not sure, but it’s something to watch out for.

I’ve actually stayed a couple times at the Mercure Tokyo Ginza, which is one of the participating properties in this promotion, and I would recommend it. Its location is unbeatable, and it’s a good value relative to other options in the city.

If you plan to book a hotel through this offer, definitely sign up for their loyalty program, Le Club AccorHotels, as there are sometimes further savings and benefits to be had, and it’s a requirement in order to enjoy the breakfast benefit in some regions.

Bottom line

If you’re looking to book a hotel for a stay this summer, take a look at the Accor options — you might be able to score a deal.

Just watch out for dates that don’t have availability for the promo, and remember that these rates are non-refundable.

Has anyone taken advantage of this Accor Super Sale? Any properties you’d recommend?

Comments

  1. Yay, finally Accor has its own blogger 😛

You sometimes have to click through specifically the sales page to access the rates and they won’t be available from regular searches on the 3 different official pages each hotel might have (because more is better right).

Also when sorted by region, you will have to look at *every* page since Accor failed 3rd grade georgaphy and will mis-group and incorrectly classify wrong countries together.

  2. The Sofitel Hanoi is included in this. Looking forward to a stay there at the end of June

  3. Wow Andrew. Are you really that much of an Accor shill that you’re publicizing a hotel that’s $1006.95 -> $704.87 during this most excellent sale?!

  4. I’m always one for a bargain, but $700 for a room for a night is expensive, even for Ginza. Maybe its for a week’s stay ?.

  5. @Dave, yup, Accor displays the total for the stay rather than per-night rate. That was a 5-night stay, if I remember correctly.

  6. I’ve just checked out the cost of booking the same hotel in France that I booked 2 months ago. It’s a flexible booking, so I can cancel and re-book at the ‘30% discounted Sale Rate’, if I want to. But I don’t think I will; it’s 5% MORE EXPENSIVE!
