Four Seasons has just opened its newest property, which will no doubt be a popular getaway for those in the United States.

Basics of the Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas

The Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol has opened as of May 1, 2024. Here are some basic facts about the property:

  • The Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas features 96 accommodations, plus 61 branded residences; entry level accommodations start at 79 square meters (847 square feet), so are quite spacious
  • The Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas is located 15 minutes from Cabo San Lucas, 25 minutes from San Jose del Cabo, and 30 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), so is easily accessible
  • The Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas features a large selection of food and beverage outlets, including Palmerio (a Mediterranean restaurant), Cayao by Richard Sandovol (a Nikkei restaurant), Coraluz (a Baja Mexican restaurant), Sora Rooftop Bar (serving craft cocktails), La Casona Bar (serving Mexican spirits), and more
  • The Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas is a golfing destination, as it’s located in the Cabo Del Sol development, featuring its own golf course as part of the Cove Club, designed by Fry Straka (the upcoming Park Hyatt Los Cabos will be located in the same development, though that’s not expected to open until 2025)
  • The Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas features the Tierra Mar Spa, featuring a variety of treatments
  • The Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas has multiple pools, as well as direct beach access; one unique thing about the beach is that it’s swimmable, unlike many others in the region

How does this compare to the other Four Seasons?

I’m a huge fan of the Los Cabos area. In particular, I like the climate (well, outside of summer), and I love the rugged desert-meets-ocean landscape, which is so different than what I’m used to living in Florida. On top of that, there are lots of amazing resorts, hospitality in the area is great, and there are top notch restaurants.

It’s interesting to note that the Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas is Four Seasons’ second property in the region, as there’s also the Four Seasons Los Cabos at Costa Palmas. So, what’s the difference between the two properties?

The main difference to understand is that the new Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol is located in the “traditional” resort area of the region. This means you have access to lots of cute towns and great restaurants, and you’re not just captive to the resort.

Meanwhile the Four Seasons Los Cabos at Costa Palmas is located in the new(ish) Costa Palmas development (as the name suggests), and that’s pretty secluded. It’s over an hour from most of the popular areas of Los Cabos, so when you stay there, except that you’ll be enjoying that property, and not much else.

Now, the Costa Palmas property is spectacular, and is a destination in and of itself. I think the remoteness is largely a selling point, since it’s such a quiet area. If you’re a Four Seasons fan and are planning a trip to the area, I think there’s merit to staying at both properties, as they offer different kinds of vacations.

Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas rates & how to book

What are rates like at the Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas at Costa Del Col? Los Cabos has been a very hot hotel market in recent years, and rates reflect that.

As of now it looks like entry level rooms start somewhere in the range of $1,100-1,400 per night, depending on the time of year. The hotel also offers some promotions, which are worth checking out.

If you’re going to book this hotel (or any Four Seasons), you absolutely should book through a travel advisor who is affiliated with Four Seasons Preferred Partner. With this program, eligible travel advisors can add value to your stay without it costing you extra. They can add perks like complimentary breakfast (including via in-room dining), a hotel credit, an upgrade subject to availability, and more.

Best of all, Four Seasons Preferred Partner can generally be combined with any rates or promotions you’ll find directly with Four Seasons. For what it’s worth, the upgrades through this program are also prioritized over upgrades through other programs, so you’ll want to use Preferred Partner over a program like Virtuoso or Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts. Ford and his team are happy to help with Preferred Partner bookings, and can be reached at [email protected].

Bottom line

The Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol is now open. This is Four Seasons’ second property in the region, with this one being more centrally located for enjoying the area. This will likely quickly become one of the top resorts in the area, though in fairness, Los Cabos has an incredibly competitive luxury hotel market.

The other kool thing about this property is there is constant construction going on with a big bucket construction loader pounding and digging on the side of the cliff all day long..........that construction is going to go on for quite a while and I am certain the pounding can be heard throughout the property..........the ocean beach is roped off with buoys and all the Cabo Adventures boats and other tour boats come and dock next...

The problem with Cabo is that it is a ghetto with compounds that just magnifies the inequality in the world. And then the service providers all have brains that are not fully developed. The personify gracious incompetence. I had the read a certain sentence a couple of times to get that when Ben wrote except he meant accept.

Also, before this article, I didn't realize that Peruvian-Japanese cuisine was called Nikkei. Very interesting.
