Transfer Amex Points To Air France-KLM Flying Blue With 25% Bonus: Worth It?

Transfer Amex Points To Air France-KLM Flying Blue With 25% Bonus: Worth It?

The Amex Membership Rewards program has just introduced its latest transfer bonus, as you can earn a 25% bonus when moving points to Air France-KLM Flying Blue. Personally I find this to be an excellent offer, and it’s one I’d take advantage of if I hadn’t speculatively moved over a bunch of points between programs earlier this year.

Amex to Flying Blue 25% transfer bonus details

Between October 1 and October 31, 2026, you can receive a 25% bonus when you transfer Amex Membership Rewards points to Air France-KLM Flying Blue.

This promotion is being offered on Amex’s end (in the United States), and is hard coded into the transfer ratio, meaning you should see the bonus at the time that you make the transfer. You can take advantage of this offer an unlimited number of times, though you’re limited to transferring 999,999 points per transaction (not that this is a limit that will impact many people).

There are lots of fantastic cards for earning Amex Membership Rewards points, so this is an awesome opportunity. Transfers from Amex to Flying Blue are generally instant. We typically see a transfer bonus from Amex to Flying Blue once or twice per year, and 25% is as good as bonuses get. We last saw a 25% transfer bonus between the programs in June 2026.

Should you transfer Amex points to Flying Blue?

Air France-KLM Flying Blue is a valuable SkyTeam frequent flyer program. The program has attractive award pricing on Air France and KLM, offering many of the best ways to cross the Atlantic. Admittedly saver award availability can be tough to come by, though if you have Flying Blue Platinum status, you get access to more award space, which is an awesome perk.

On top of that, Air France and KLM make more award seats available to members of the Flying Blue program than to members of partner programs. So even when Flying Blue’s pricing isn’t the best, there are situations where it could make sense to book through Flying Blue (though with all of the Delta SkyMiles devaluations we’ve seen, typically you will find the best pricing through Flying Blue).

I should mention that in September 2026 we saw a Flying Blue devaluation, whereby awards now followed a tiered pricing structure. This means that the cheapest awards are now “Light” fares, and if you want the same inclusions as before, you need to buy up to a “Standard” fare, which costs more miles.

There’s always value in having a stash of Flying Blue miles if you think you’ll be traveling transatlantic in the coming months. I redeem through Flying Blue every year (usually multiple times per year), and consistently get value. I find it to be one of the most useful frequent flyer programs for redeeming points.

The only other consideration here is that all major transferable points currencies partner with Air France-KLM Flying Blue, and we see transfer bonuses with some frequency. So I’d be strategic with which program you transfer points from, especially based on how you’d otherwise redeem them.

Bottom line

Through October 31, 2026, Amex Membership Rewards is offering a 25% bonus on points transfers to Air France-KLM Flying Blue.

I’m always conflicted when it comes to transferring points during bonuses like this. On the one hand, a lot of the value from transferable points comes from the flexibility you have of being able to transfer them to any program once you actually have a specific redemption in mind. That’s the best way to protect yourself from devaluations. At the same time, you’re going to get the most value if you can transfer points while there’s also a bonus, since your points can be stretched a lot further.

Personally, as someone who flies Air France all the time, I made a large speculative transfer during the last transfer bonus, since my mileage balance was low. So I’m not making a transfer this time around.

Do you plan on transferring Amex points to Flying Blue with a 25% bonus?

Also check your USA Amex Plat offers. I just got a spend $1,000 get 20,000 MR points on Flying Blue (AF/KLM)

Did anyone figure out if you status match to gold and then get the credit card if the sign up XPs help you push to Platinum?

The problem is that transfers are NOT working right now from Amex => FB. Both online and calling results in a quick point deduction and then the points re-appearing in my MR account. Nothing shows in history. Of course, Amex has no idea why it would not be working.

Only Amex could be so LAME as to kick off a promo and then have the plumbing not working correctly.

Same here; the transfer never goes through; the points are still in my MR account as well.

Can you comment on how much better the reward availability is for FB platinums? Is it a little better ? A lot better? More saver cities or just more seats per flight? Better but not quite saver-level pricing vs 375k per flight? As one on the path from FB gold -> platinum currently, I'm curious...

I'm FB Plat. I can see tons of saver award space that my spouse (FB Silver) doesn't see. Award space got lousy for a while last year before they made the change, but it's been great since then.

Better than Chase's 20% bonus last month - looking at some bookings for next year, so happy to see this.

Flying Blue's hidden calendar seems buggy lately and not working 50% of the time. Coincidentially started acting up right when Tiffany joined.
