Transfer Chase Points To Marriott Bonvoy With 65% Bonus

Chase Ultimate Rewards has just launched its latest transfer bonus. It’s not the most exciting offer on earth, though for some people there might be value with it.

Chase offering 65% bonus on Marriott Bonvoy transfers

Through Monday, June 30, 2025, you can receive a 65% bonus when you transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy.

Chase Ultimate Rewards Marriott Bonvoy transfer bonus

This promotion is being offered on Chase’s end (in the United States), and is hard coded into the transfer ratio, meaning you should see the bonus at the time that you make the transfer. You can take advantage of this offer an unlimited number of times. Transfers from Chase to Marriott Bonvoy are generally instant.

It seems that we see a bonus like this at least a few times per year, and we last saw such an offer in early 2025. We’ve seen seven similar transfer bonuses in the past few years, ranging from a bonus of 40-70%. So the 65% bonus is very close to the best offers we’ve seen between the programs.

Is this transfer bonus worth it?

Every single time there has been a Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer bonus to Marriott Bonvoy, I’ve recommended against it. Why? I value Bonvoy points at ~0.7 cents each, while I value Chase Ultimate Rewards points at ~1.7 cents each. So unless you’re getting well over two Bonvoy points per Ultimate Rewards point, you’re probably not really maximizing your points.

With a 65% bonus, you’re getting ~1.16 cents of value per Ultimate Rewards point with this offer, at least by my valuation. That’s not how I’d recommend redeeming Ultimate Rewards points, given how much more value you can get with these points.

Just keep in mind that at a minimum, you can redeem Ultimate Rewards points for 1.25-1.5 cents each toward a travel purchase through the Chase Travel Portal. Personally I value World of Hyatt points at more than twice as much as Bonvoy points, yet Chase Ultimate Rewards points ordinarily transfer to both currencies at a 1:1 ratio.

The St. Regis Maldives

Now, in fairness, there are situations where you could get value with this transfer, in terms of the hotel stay being worth more than the value of the points transferred. However, there are probably more efficient ways to acquire those points:

Keep in mind that nowadays Marriott Bonvoy has dynamic award pricing, so there’s no maximum for the number of points hotels can charge for award stays. Nonetheless there are still good uses of Bonvoy points.

Bottom line

Through June 30, 2025, you can receive a 65% bonus when you transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy.

I generally wouldn’t take advantage of this, at least without a specific redemption in mind. Marriott Bonvoy isn’t an efficient Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partner, and I’d argue that applies even with a 65% bonus. I’d give this offer a “pass,” but I’m sure some will find this to be worthwhile.

What’s your take on this Chase transfer bonus to Marriott?

This can be a good deal if you are booking a 5 night stay. You are getting an extra 20% value for your points. On a recent stay in Nassau, it came out to the equivalent of .0233 cents per UR point.

    lol. No. Absolutely not Chase/marriott.

I'll concur that there are corner cases where this could make sense. However, I'm still eating through the remains of my *wood merger pile, some pandemic build-up, and what gets tossed on when the point/cash ratio is lousy considering my status, etc.

(My best guess is that I'll mostly be through that pile in about 2027-28.)

Have they *ever* done a transfer bonus to World of Hyatt?

This can be valid to do if you have Platinum status or higher and if you have something with a good redemption rate.

That way you get the perks of status and a good return.

For example, the Four Points in Kalamazoo is typically about 1 cpp.

Using this transfer for that gives you a pretty good return.

That's exactly my case as an expat in the Middle East. I easily redeem Marriott points at 1.3c-1.5c in most of redemption cases. I just transferred 50K UR, wish it offered a 70% transfer bonus like before...

A year or two a go, it used to be fairly easy to redeem Bonvoy points for solidly over 1 cent per point - usually at resorts. So back then, I would often reply and disagree with your viewpoint, with examples of good value I got out of redemptions. Now, it is harder to get that outsize value from Marriott points (but still possible in certain scenarios)....
