Delta pretty frequently publishes flash sales on award tickets. More often than not these are for domestic and/or economy tickets, but at the moment they have an excellent sale for travel to Europe in business class.
With this promotion you can fly roundtrip Delta One business class from the US to Europe for just 98,000 SkyMiles. As a point of comparison, ordinarily Delta typically charges a minimum of 80,000 miles one-way, so those are some significant savings.
Now, there are some restrictions to be aware of:
- You must book by 11:59PM ET on Thursday, November 14, 2019
- Valid for travel between December 24, 2019, and April 18, 2020
- Promotional pricing isn’t available on all dates, so see the promotion page for blackout dates
- Only some city pairs are permitted, though more city pairs than are shown on the promotion page, so I recommend just searching Delta’s website
- Roundtrip travel is required
- Seven day minimum stay required, and 30 day maximum stay allowed
- You must fly Delta metal (so you can’t fly partner airlines)
Ultimately you’re going to be best off just picking a city pair and using Delta’s award calendar to find available dates.
Delta SkyMiles is an Amex Membership Rewards transfer partner, so there are lots of credit cards that can easily earn you SkyMiles. See this post for the best credit cards for earning Delta miles.
Anyone taking advantage of this great Delta award sale?
booked JFK to Barcelona for my bday Im stoke.
When I tried to book on delta.com there was NO deals for this time period called November Skymiles Flash Deal.
Booked SRQ-DTW-AMS(D1 Suite)-ZRH; CDG-LHR (5 hours in the Virgin Clubhouse)-ATL-SRQ for 98,000 + US$167. Can't wait!
Grabbed ATL-MAD for 98K return! Will be my first time in a flatbed across the Atlantic. There was no availability on connecting flights from my home airport(s) of GSO/CLT/RDU, so I will buy separate tickets to reposition from GSO to ATL. Thanks!
Thank you! Nailed HNL to BCN Christmas thru New Years! Checked on a whim, and there it was. A very nice early present for my wife and myself! Again, Mahalo!
Going to Morocco!!!!! And even managed to snag suites on the return.
@RT, I couldn't find any non-stop (which is nuts since I'm starting in ATL and heading to CDG), but I did snag a nice rt via CVG. Long travel days, but hopefully I'll sleep over the Atlantic. 98000 was too sweet to pass up. Oh, and be sure to check "flexible schedule" to find the sweet spots.
The Delta site is so slow. 13 seconds between screens! No matter which city I chose for a non-stop flight (e.g. DTW, CVG, ATL) to CDG, the 98,000 mile routing always included a stop. If I started in CVG, it would route me through DTW. If I started in DTW, it would route me through CVG.
Is there a faster way to get mileage trips quoted?
I was able to find some for 98K with short haul flights on partner carriers. Booked SEA-MAD, with one segment (MAD-AMS) on KLM.
Definitely found availability beyond the city pairs listed, though for Seattle I found little to no availability to return on Sundays (which I need for my job). Too bad, would have booked more trips, since I have a lot of Skymiles to burn.
Pretty good, but the recent Flying Blue sale did me even better. SEA-PRG, BUD-YYZ for 68k in J was a steal.
Booked JFK to BCN. Pretty damn good deal.
Published city pairs aren't necessary. Booked for 2 MKE-AMS. Lots of other availability from the non-published pairs.
Book 4 tickets from JAX to ZUR. A great deal!
