5,000 Bonus Hilton Points Per Stay Through July 6, 2015

Wow, Hilton HHonors is feeling rather generous at the moment. In late May I posted about how Hilton is extending the “Double Your HHonors” promotion through August 31, 2015, while it was previously supposed to end on May 31, 2015. Furthermore, Hilton made the extended promotion available at all Hilton family properties, while previously there was a list of non-participating properties.

But it gets even better than that. Hilton has just announced what I guess you’d call a “flash promotion.”

Hilton is offering 5,000 bonus HHonors points for stays between June 17 and July 6, 2015.

Registration is required prior to check-out of your first eligible stay during the promotion period, and there’s no limit to how many bonus points you can earn through this promotion. It can be stacked with the “Double Your HHonors promotion,” and bonus points should post six to eight weeks after the conclusion of the promotion.

For what it’s worth, I value Hilton points at ~0.4 cents each, so to me that’s like a $20 bonus per stay. That’s not half bad, when you consider there’s no limit to how many times you can earn the bonus, and all properties are eligible.

5,000 bonus points makes the bathroom at the wretched Hilton I’m presently staying at ever-so-slightly more acceptable. 😉

The full terms of the promotion are as follows:

Offer valid for stays completed between June 17 and July 6, 2015, (“Promotion Period”) at any hotel in the Hilton Worldwide portfolio. Hilton HHonors™ members must first register through this page prior to check-out of your first stay within the Promotion Period. Registered HHonors members will earn 5,000 HHonors Bonus Points per stay during the Promotion Period. A “stay” is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether or not a guest checks out and checks back in again. Registered HHonors members will only receive Bonus Points for nights completed during the Promotion Period regardless of a check-in date before the Promotion Period begins or a check-out date after the Promotion Period ends. Offer subject to availability at participating hotels and cannot be combined with other select offers and rates.

There is no limit to the total amount of Bonus Points that may be earned during the Promotion Period. Bonus Points earned on Base Points do not count toward tier qualification. Please allow six to eight weeks from completion of your stay for points or miles to appear in your HHonors account. Offer is not transferable, is not valid for groups and cannot be combined with other select offers.

Bottom line

This is a very nice “surprise” bonus, especially since Hilton already offers a pretty good return on hotel spend. We’re not seeing all that many generous promotions during the summer travel period, so this is impressive on the part of Hilton.

  1. @Lucky sez: “…so this is impressive on the part of Hilton”
Wow, from grudging admission that the extension of the “Double Your HHonors” promo was “nice” to outright gushing…it must mean that HHonors is indeed the most vibrant hotel loyalty program and Hilton the fastest growing hospitality company out there right now, as I had reported!

How exciting is it all? I have a 7-night stay coming up in a couple of days at Conrad HKG, which is already running 2-3 brand-specific promos in addition to the extended “Double Your Honors” global, thrown in this promo and pay for it with the AMEX Surpass for additional 12HH/$, and you take home a huge bundle…a relatively long and pricey stay + multiple promos = bonanza!

Hilton is, of course, being so generous because, by any measure, they are currently making a lot of money and want to thank those — loyal members — who their internal data show to be responsible for their wealth and to encourage them to do more of what they’ve been doing — stay more and redeem more!

  2. Wow, @DCS sounds like a commerical for Hilton and @Colleen and @Bob appear to think that a 1970s retro bathroom is quality accomodation? What the heck is going on? Yes, please enjoy your Hilton, so the rest of us can find availability a real hotel.

  3. @Stephan — Sounds to me like you are the one left out in the cold if you cannot even real recognize excitement when it hits you in the face…Good luck finding that “real” hotel! 😉

  4. An award stay/ point + cash stay is considered a “stay”, don’t see why you will not get bonus points from this. Historically, hilton give out bonus points for p+c or award stays. Hmm….

  5. @dx is right. Not only do points + cash stays qualify, pure points-only award stays also qualify because Hilton promos seldom make a distinction between award, including p+c, and revenue stays. One earns promo points regardless, unless the promo points emanate from on-property cash spend in which case one earns promo points only on incidentals for award stays since that’s the only eligible spend that will be on one’s folio…

In fact, as far as Hilton is concerned award stays and revenue stays might as well be the same thing, which is why their complimentary elite upgrades, including to suites, are good even on award stays 😉
