At the moment SkyTeam airlines have some exceptional business class fares for travel from Nairobi to the US. I know I don’t have that many readers based in Kenya, but if you’re traveling to Africa and/or are going on safari in Kenya, it could pay to redeem miles in one direction and book a paid ticket in the other direction.
These fares have transatlantic travel on Alitalia. The fares are under $1,100 one-way (and less than double that much roundtrip), and are valid for travel to most Alitalia gateways in the US, including Los Angeles, Miami, and New York.
What also makes this fare special is that it’s a full fare business class ticket, in terms of flexibility and mileage earning. Furthermore you’re allowed free stopovers on this ticket.
For example, you can fly from Nairobi to Rome to Los Angeles for under $1,100.
A roundtrip ticket is a little less than double the cost.
Or for the same fare you could fly to New York via Rome, and you could even do a stopover in Rome at no extra cost.
You could even fly from Nairobi to Rome to New York, have a stopover, and then continue to Los Angeles on a later date for the same cost.
Availability is wide open through the end of the schedule, and you can search this fare on ITA Matrix or Google Flights. You can see wheretocredit.com to figure out how many miles you’d earn for this full fare “J” ticket.
Anyone plan on taking advantage of this great business class fare?
