What Marriott status does Amex Platinum for the remainder of 2018

So there has been a large number of conflicting reports regarding whether Amex Platinum members will get platinum elite or gold elite from the 1st August till Jan 2019. Does anyone know which status will be given since the breakfast is a huge perk and I am contemplating whether to book a stay at a Marriott.

I’m almost certain that Marriott Gold earned via status match from SPG Gold via Amex Platinum will be granted new Marriott Gold status, not the new Marriott Platinuim status.
