Ultimate Rewards with existing CSP, new CSR

Ultimate Rewards with existing CSP, new CSR

  1. JJ_Buck New Member

I have an existing Chase Sapphire Preferred card, with an Ultimate Rewards balance accumulated. I would like to get the Chase Sapphire Reserve card to take advantage of the 100,000 point sign up bonus. Will I be able to combine the two balances, or will the UR balances be separate? I eventually want to cancel the CSP (no sense paying the fee if I have the CSR), which would normally cancel the UR tied to it. Will I “get credit” for the CSR card and not lose those accumulated reward points? I don’t want to lose the points I have built up.

I’m new to this, so any advice would be appreciated.

you can combine the two pretty easily and as long as you combine it into the UR account for the CSR, you wont have any problems canceling the CSP
