Anonymous GuestIn case you guys are not aware of it, Southwest/Chase is now offering a promotional Companion Pass with new credit card sign-ups and qualifying spend. This special Companion Pass is only valid through 12/31/19.
Personally, I feel conflicted about this since I earn my Pass through conventional means – butt in seat points and targeted spending on the Chase cards. Not really keen on seeing the Southwest equivalent of the “gold card” being devalued by this.

I think this is a very limited time offer, and the pass is only valid through 2019. So if you qualify traditionally again this year, you’d have that full extra calendar year.
In my opinion, the Companion Pass is also different than traditional airline status. It’s not like you’re competing for limited upgrades or anything like that…
