The more I learn about this incident, the more bone chilling it gets. Why would you fly on a Middle East airline from or to USA where the chances of the pilot being of Islamic religion are high and we know the well documented hatred they have for Jews.
As someone who flies often, would really avoid all Middle Eastern airlines, specially on routes that are flying to US or from US or for that matter even from Europe and to Europe.
Air Dubai, which had up to 10 flights a day, has suspended service to Tel Aviv. I doubt that Dubai was the final destination for many Israeli passengers, so they have been hijacked to non-kosher hotels and restaurants. Maybe that was the suicidal pilot's true motive.
This raises some serious safety questions. If it gets confirmed that the pilot was stabbed, then we'd need to understand how come someone can board an aircraft, in Dubai airport, with a knife.
I'd like to hear regulators in Europe and North America saying whether they're still happy receiving flights from Dubai airport if there is such a security breach there.
What's the motive? Obviously we don't know. And it's likely that we will eventually be fed two very different stories at some point; one from the Israelis and another from the UAE. Let's see: an Omani allegedly stabs the captain and tries to crash the aircraft. An aircraft headed to Tel Aviv and loaded with Israelis. Not a flight headed to Ankara or Lahore or Tripoli. No, it was Israel.
Already easy to come to conclusions which, given the attitudes of millions of people, are pretty easy to draw and pretty likely to be accurate.
