Rakuten and IHG

Rakuten and IHG

I have been a big fan of the Rakuten switch to Amex. Given the ability to earn Amex points has actually shifted some of my behavior on spend as I was accumulating so many Amex points and so few UR points (primarily for Hyatt).

One of the disappointing aspects of the program is that IHG and related are perpetually pending even 8 to 10 weeks after travel. Anyone else experiencing this issue. I contacted Rakuten and they want specifics on travel, spend, etc which is quite annoying.

    Has anyone received these points?

If the hotel booking is high (more than $300), it can take a while, because they need to check. My last reservation of $1900 took 3 months to be posted. One of $250 took 5 days.
