Hi, I was wondering if you have stayed at any hotels near CMB and could recommend a hotel for a less than 24 hour stay (~15 or 21 hours depending on flight I take to CMB)? I don’t need a luxury property, but I want someplace clean, safe, and at least western (US) three star quality (i.e., NOT a place like the $65 transit hotel you stayed at in the Maldives)..
I originally was considering staying in Colombo itself, but based on the research I have done, I think it is too far (longer than desired transportation time to CMB) and not a good option with an early (7:20 am) flight. I have read that hotels in Negombo (a beach area about 15 minutes away) might be a good option, and there are a few hotels near the airport, and a transit hotel in CMB. None of these hotels are brands I know (except a Ramada which is not available), so it is difficult to determine what options will meet my needs.
