I am planning a trip for three at the end of this year to Istanbul and I already have the outbound from Chicago the inbound is what I am trying to figure out. I have a cache of Life miles and want to know your thoughts on probability that around New Year’s Lufthansa may or may not release three first class seats from Munich to Chicago. I am willing to take a chance on not having a return flight open till a couple days before wanting to come home just curious if you think it’s not a worthwhile gamble given the holiday season and your experience?Thank you,

I’d try to book something now and then pay change fees to switch if it opens up. Gambling on award space around the holidays is too risky.
