Interline Baggage from American Airlines to Copa Airlines

Interline Baggage from American Airlines to Copa Airlines

  1. Anonymous Guest

Last month, I traveled on American from the USA to PTY, and had a separate ticket on Copa Airlines from PTY to MDE. American would not check my bag all the way through to MDE since Copa is not a OneWorld member, thus forcing me to enter the country in order to pick up my bag and re-check with Copa! And I had just done the same think in June, 2015 with no problem! For PTY, if you don’t have to pick up your bag, you can just go to the next gate without going through immigration and customs, which is awesome for transiting!

Paradi, yes that is an unfortunate change. Ben wrote about it last year: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2014/09/22/american-baggage-policy-for-separate-tickets-changing/
