I attained United 1K status again last year, and now am trying to use a couple of my United Global Upgrade Certificates. What I am finding out, unlike last year, there are no flights available, regardless of dates, and even changing airports, to use them, that is unless you are willing to go on a waiting list. Last year, I was able to find flights that offered a “confirmed” upgrade, again without the need to be added to the waiting list. With this in mind, is there a better way to use these more effectively? Am I missing something?
