Hong Kong to Beijing using 144 hour transit without visa program

Hong Kong to Beijing using 144 hour transit without visa program

My wife and I are both US citizens and will be flying to Singapore from Denver to board a cruise starting in Singapore and ending in Hong Kong.

From Hong Kong we will fly on Xiamen Airlines to Beijing. There is a connecting flight at the Xiamen Gaoqi International airport but we will not be leaving the airport. We will spend three days in Hong Kong and then fly to Seattle. We’ll visit a few days with our son’s family and then fly back to Denver.

Will we be able to take advantage of the 144 hour transit without visa in Beijing? I’ve seen on several sites where if we were flying from Denver to Beijing to Hong Kong this would definitely be possible. But I haven’t seen anything definite about Hong Kong to Beijing to Denver.
