Welcome [USER=5385]@Scott Marvell[/USER] – to obtain a US-issued credit card you’ll need a Social Security Number or some other kind of Taxpayer ID number and usually a US address.

You can’t get the Alaska card, unfortunately, but there are some other decent credit cards in Australia, and you can always buy Alaska miles during a promo!
