Earning BA Tier Points Without Flying

Earning BA Tier Points Without Flying

  1. Anonymous Guest

I am 30 tier points away from retaining BA silver status but am unsure whether I will be able to travel again before the end of my account’s annual closing date. However, I see fares in BA shorthaul business class from London to Glasgow for around –120 GBP one-way, which would earn me 40 tier points, enough to get me the status. Is it possible to purchase the ticket & pay the fare but not actually travel and the day of departure and still earn the tier points?

    Thanks

Unfortunately, nope. You’ll only get the points for the flights if you actually take the flight.

Looks like a double post. But, is there any reason you can’t take the flight? Could you leave and return the same day?
