Can I travel with an electric skateboard

Can I travel with an electric skateboard

1. Anonymous Guest

Hey Lucky,
I recently picked up a Boosted skateboard https://boostedboards.com/, and have seen mixed results allowing travel or not across various airlines. Today I hit up the AA Twitter team and this was their response:

“As far as your battery powered skateboard, we don’t have information related to this item. We certainly don’t want you to have a problem either, but it sounds like it’s a regular skateboard once the battery is removed. Please arrive a little earlier than usual.”

Any chance you have any insight on this? Casey Neistat had trouble in Australia with security, however it seems that he has been good going elsewhere. I was going to check the skateboard and pack the battery in my carry on. The battery is below the maximum capacity that AA permits as well.
Thanks,
Tim
