Trying to find J availability for a direct flight from US to Vienna (JFK, ORD, EWR) using United website (and redeeming United miles).

Flights are for late December of this year (9 months in advance).
All the direct flights are not on United metal but rather on Austrian.

Strangely – all of them show availability (at a saver level!) in coach but absolutely no availability (neither at saver level nor at regular level) in business.

Could it be that the awards are already gone that far in advance and on all direct routes? Or does it have something to do with Austrian Airlines – maybe they do not release seats to United that early? Should I keep checking or go with some alternative?

[USER=1241]@T.A.[/USER] – per [URL=’http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2014/08/06/austrian-business-class-award-space-next-summer/’]this post from a couple of years ago[/URL], Austrian is inconsistent about releasing business class award space in advance. But it appears that at the 90-day window they become much more consistent. Don’t know if you can wait that long or not.
