AA Platinum (NOT Ex. Platinum) for $1,199 – worth it?

AA Platinum (NOT Ex. Platinum) for $1,199 – worth it?

  1. Martin Freifeld New Member

My personal travel is down to about 35 segments a year now with only one European round trip. I only qualified for Gold this year, so does anyone think it is worth $1,199 for Platinum? I rarely get upgraded (unlike the years I had Ex. Platinum/Chairman’s) and I don’t know if I would even spend $1200 by paying for better seating in advance and occasionally checking more than one bag. What are the thoughts?

HI Martin, I think it’s hard to make the case for Platinum at that price. With AA making it a little easier to qualify for EXP, you’re likely going to be stuck behind even more people waiting for an upgrade :(.
