I need 1,024 miles to get AA status. I’m currently Gold. I can’t take two short flights since that would only get me 2*500 or 1,000 miles.

How does the minimum of 500 miles per flight apply to segments? For example if I did two short segments on the outbound flight plus one short segment on the inbound flight do I end up with 500+500+500= 1,500 miles or just 500+500? (i.e., Trying to understand if the 500 mile is applied to segments).

    Thanks.

Yes, three short segments would net you 1500 EQMs because of the minimum.

For instance, Boston to Philadelphia to LaGuardia to Reagan would be 1500, even though you only fly 590 actual miles
