Not a bad place to be….

I kind of don’t want to get up. After walking at least 20km today (between sightseeing and the gym), I’m sitting in the club lounge at the InterContinental London Park Lane and the views are magnificent. I can see the London Eye all lit up in the background (although you probably can’t see it in the picture below) with Hyde Park right below me, and am quite enjoying the appetizer selection. Oh, and for those of you in the “Lucky drinks way too much Diet Coke based on his trip reports” camp, that’s only my second Diet Coke in well over two weeks.

  2. Diet Coke … the flight attendants most hated drink to serve!

    I think I may may the full time switch to club soda + lemon/lime (if available)

  3. Lean yourself off the Diet Coke and try bottled water instead when it is free. Water will make you feel a lot better, and you will notice the difference.

  4. London is intoxicating, isn’t it? Given the nice weather, I don’t blame you for walking until you drop. So much to explore, every corner brings something unique and different. Few places feel so bottomless in terms of possibilities. London is definitely one of those places!

    I can’t wait to get back there.

    @ hdawg — I’d also be curious to hear why it’s flight attendants’ least favorite drink to serve.

    @ chitownflyer — As I said, it was my second Diet Coke in two weeks. I already had eight bottles of water that day. Trust me, I needed a Diet Coke. 😉

  6. When I am trying to lose weight, I cut my calories to 1500/day, switch to whole grains, eat beans, nuts, and soy for protein, and step up my fruits & veggies. I also get half an hour of cardio every day and half an hour of strength training six days a week. This plan allows me to lose about 2-2 1/2 lbs per week. Hope this helps.
